1, Petermore, smoke inhalation after fire at Brock Towers at OFM investigation

A person was inhaled due to smoke after a fire broke out in an apartment building in Peterborough on Saturday night.

The crew was called to Brock Street at around 8 a.m. to report a fire at a unit in the Brock Towers apartment complex, according to Don Broersma, head of the Peterborough Fire Services platoon.

He said the fire was on and extinguished quickly.

With the exception of the damaged unit, all residents were able to return to their apartments later that same evening.

Brosma mentioned that a resident encountered smoke, alerting the occupants to the fire floor.

The loss is estimated at $ 30,000.

The Ontario office of Peterborough Fire Services and Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
