BC Health Officer to provide Monday COVID-19 update


BC Health officials are set to provide the COVID-19 update on Monday afternoon.

Health Minister Adrian Dix and Provincial Health Officer Drs. Bonnie Henry is scheduled to speak at 3 pm at a news conference that will be broadcast live on BC1 on our website, Global BC Facebook page And CKNW.

More COVID-19 vaccines are coming this month to B.C.

During its last update on Friday, the province reported 740 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest number since late March.

This brought the seven-day rolling average of new cases down to 818; The last time either metric was lower was 24 March.

Authorities also reported four COVID-19 deaths, leading to 1,581 deaths of BC’s COVID-19.

Active cases dropped to 7,886, while another 11,727 people were separating due to potential risk.

The hospitalization rate remained constant, with 511 patients hospitalized, 174 in critical or intensive care.
