Police released video of daylight shooting in which more than 40 shots were seen


Durham Regional Police released surveillance video of a daylight shooting in Ajax last week stating that officers fired more than 40 shots.

Police said officers were called to Harwood Avenue South and Kingston Road West around 4:20 pm Wednesday after “exchanging bullets” between two vehicles.

A video released on Monday showed two men exiting a black palanquin at an intersection and a white sedan opened in front of it.

The two men then return to the black vehicle and he runs away.

A person then appears to run away from the white vehicle.

Police said a 24-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were seriously injured after being shot and taken to the trauma center.

Police initially said they were seriously injured, but an update on Thursday said they had sustained non-fatal injuries.

On Friday, police said they had injured two people. Ajax resident Rashavan Samuls, 26 and Sarena Ambersley Johnson, 24, a resident of Scarborough, were charged with multiple charges against each other.

In Monday’s update, police said they are still searching for two suspects who fled in a black Hyundai, which was later abandoned by Toronto police in Scarborough and released.

Police said the suspects were believed to have set the white Honda Civic on fire.

One of the suspects is described as a male who wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.

The other suspect is also believed to be a male, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light pants and white shoes.

Police said both suspects are believed to be armed and dangerous.
