The 19-year-old was shot and killed in Surrey Friday afternoon, the Homicide team confirmed


Another murder has taken place in Surrey.

The Integrated Home Investigation Team said that a 19-year-old man was shot and killed on Friday afternoon.

Investigators said Monday morning that the young man showed up at the hospital at 1:30 in the night following a gunshot wound and died shortly thereafter.

He said that it appears to be an isolated incident and not linked to the ongoing gang clashes in the Lower Mainland.

At present, no one has been arrested.

More information is expected to be released on Monday after IHIT.

The incident was the beginning of a bloody weekend in Metro Vancouver.

On Saturday, a provincial corrections officer was shot dead in a parking lot near Walmart in Delta, and a woman was shot near Central Park in Burnaby on Sunday morning.

She survived and is in hospital in stable condition.
